We’re delighted to be welcoming Lady Lamb back to Manchester!

For the first time since Even in the Tremor was released in April, Aly Spaltro – aka Lady Lamb – is heading overseas for European dates this winter. These intimate solo dates will showcase new takes on the album’s songs, recorded at Figure 8 Studios in Brooklyn with bassist/pianist Benjamin Lazar Davis (Cuddle Magic, Kimbra, Okkervil River) and drummer Jeremy Gustin (David Byrne, Albert Hammond Jr., Rubble Bucket).

For Even in The Tremor, Spaltro turned inwards. She references specific memories, like having a tantrum in a batting cage, being baptised by her parents in a kiddie pool, and untangling her girlfriend’s wet hair, resulting in an album that is deeply rooted in the people and places that have shaped her into the self-determining artist she is today. Her introspective vision was championed by producer Erin Tonkon (Tony Visconti, David Bowie’s Blackstar), a confidante she instantly bonded with over certain hardships they had each faced in the music industry.

‘Her songs, stuffed with information and emotion, act as an extended reminder to appreciate the gentler things the world has to offer’ – Pitchfork

Tour support comes from Toth. Toth is the project of Brooklyn multi-instrumentalist songwriter Alex Toth, known for collaborating and writing with Kimbra, Alexander F, Rubblebucket, Cuddle Magic and others. As Toth, he presents his most vulnerable songs and performances yet, often sung in a style reminiscent of Arthur Russell, while also adding trumpet and guitar. Debut album Practice Magic and Seek Professional Help When Necessary came out May 2019 on Northern Spy Records (worldwide) and Figure Eight (EU/UK). The album was mixed by Andrew Sarlo (Big Thief, Nick Hakim).
