We’re delighted to be working with Dos Floris for the first time!

Dos Floris, real name Florence Donovan, is a one-woman band who plays multiple instruments and machines – the creator of melancholy music with attitude that somehow manages to be uplifting and warm at the same time. Think Kate Bush reimagined by the members of Radiohead and Sigur Ros. Her debut solo album,The Widowed Earth, was released to underground acclaim in 2017, with reviews calling her music ‘refreshing, different and sublime’, ‘incredibly evocative’ and ‘one of the most interesting albums to emerge for months, years even’.

A UK tour followed the album release where she was given a ‘one to watch’ accolade and was then selected as one of three artists to represent the UK at Linecheck festival in Milan in 2018. New tracks Starlight and On the Road were released in the summer of 2019, preceding a tour of Poland and Germany in October.

Dos Floris returns to Manchester to play some old and some new songs from her forthcoming second album Broken Love.

Special guest is Paige Kennedy. Paige Kennedy is an industrial alt-pop artist, based in Manchester. Her latest single Finga was made BBC 6 Music recommends track of the week in September 2019 and supported by Tom Robinson who ‘fell in love with the wonky ear-worm’. It’s been played on Steve Lamacq, Lauren Laverne, Mary Anne Hobbs, Shaun Keaveny and Chris Hawkins shows on 6 Music as well as Tom’s and the Introducing Mixtape. It’s also been played on BBC Introducing in Kent and Tees. Recently it was made recommends track of the week on BBC Introducing Manchester. She has been gigging with her band around the city for the last couple of years. Her music has been described as ‘sonically expansive’ by David Sue at Manchester Evening News and her vocals as ‘punky’ and ‘assertive’ by Kerry JK on Fresh on the Net.
