We’re delighted to be promoting Jo Rose’s first full band show.

Jo-Rose-Gullivers-Manchester-2

Jo Rose has been touring with his first set release, Spurs, for the past year. The songs from this record, bearing the influence of acts such as Neil Young, Leonard Cohen, Townes Van Zandt, Songs: Ohia and Smog have been played extensively around Europe at shows supporting Thea Gilmore and First Aid Kit. Up until now, Rose has been playing almost exclusively solo, but this show will introduce for the first time the long overdue band, which will add the weight, colour and dynamic (and, we hope, some scuzz) this ensemble of excellent musicians will undoubtably deliver. Every addition to the group is a fantastic creative in their own right and we should expect some exciting deviations from the arrangements familiar to those who know Jo’s debut recordings.

The line-up includes Jim Rhodes of Cherry Ghost on electric guitar, Aidan ‘Goob’ Donovan of Oh Man , the Mountain on bass, Chris Hillman, Manchester’s go-to Pedal Steel genius, Jo Dudderidge of the Travelling Band on keys and Pete Marshall, formerly of Liam Frost and the Slowdown Family, on drums.

Support comes from Oh Man, The Mountain. Drawing influence from roots folk and blues, southern gothic Americana, 90s indie rock and the disassociation from it all that living in the rainy city tends to bring – Oh Man, The Mountain is an honest attempt to express the confusion of living and loving in a broken world.
