We’re delighted to be welcoming Happyness back to Manchester, following their appearance at Sounds From The Other City.

In support of their highly anticipated debut full length, Weird Little Birthday (out 16 June), acclaimed London three-piece Happyness have announced their own set of June headline dates.

Currently on tour with Ezra Furman throughout May, and having played to packed out venues at Liverpool Sound City and Live At Leeds, Happyness are winning admirers in their many. Set to continue their rapid rise into the summer of 2014, more dates, as well as key festival appearances will be announced soon too.

Happyness’ new single, Great Minds Think Alike, All Brains Taste The Same, is out now.

‘Weird Little Birthday might just be the best record Broken Social Scene never made; a gorgeously melodic indie-pop tale of sickness, sex and melancholy in the suburbs’ – NME

Support comes from Butcher The Bar. Butcher The Bar are five young(ish) men playing – sometimes jangly sometimes fuzzy – power pop. They do this in Manchester. They share a love for, among other things, Teenage Fanclub, Elliott Smith, Flying Nun Records and Yo La Tengo. Once the solo project of Joel Nicholson, Butcher The Bar has long outgrown its beginnings in his Rotherham bedroom, and the band are now adding the finishing touches to the third album – the first to capture this bunch on record. Currently signed to Berlin indie Morr Music (múm, Telekinesis, Seabear, Lali Puna), Butcher The Bar have toured around Europe and the UK – including a jaunt supporting Death Cab for Cutie – and you may have seen them in Manchester opening shows for Mark Eitzel, Allo Darlin’ and Francois & The Atlas Mountains.

Buy tickets now. Tickets are available from Common (no booking fee), Piccadilly Records, Vinyl Exchange, Seetickets.comWeGotTickets.comTicketline.co.uk and on 0871 220 0260.
