We’ve partnered once again with Whitworth Art Gallery to present a Knees Up with Honeyfeet!

Hosted by members of Manchester’s finest ethio-trad, folk-hop and barrelhouse-pop exponents, Honeyfeet, this free session is an opportunity to flex your vocal muscles – while enjoying a Sunday afternoon pint. Members from the band will respond to Hogarth’s series of painting A Rake’s Progress with a selection of traditional and specially written folk songs. Your job is to form their impromptu backing choir, and make this interactive gig one to remember.

Special guests from Manchester’s music scene will also make an appearance – with Stefan Melbourne, plus Rik Warren, Ellis Davies and Ríoghnach Connolly from Honeyfeet, among those who will be getting involved.

This event is part of the Whitworth Pub Crawl, which takes the gallery’s artwork out in to the pubs and bars of Manchester while its building is refurbished. Other events in the series have included life drawing in Britons Protection, wallpaper-making in Soup Kitchen – and Honeyfeet performing at First Chop Brewing Arm, which launched the crawl.

And finally, it wouldn’t be a proper Knees Up without a few drinks – and for this Sunday session, we’ve got a healthy bar tab courtesy of the Whitworth.
