We’re excited to be promoting the return of Telepathe, who last performed here in 2009

Telepathe (pronounced Telepathy) is a Brooklyn, New York-based experimental noise pop group, who focus on digital percussion and electronica. The group was initially formed in 2004 as an aside for Busy Gangnes (from prog-punk experimentalists Wikkid) and Melissa Livaudais (fellow Wikkid and First Nation guitarist).

In 2007, they released Farewell Forest EP and Sinister Militia 12” through the Social Registry label. Followed by Chrome’s On It EP and Devil’s Trident EPs in 2008. Their full-length debut Dance Mother was released in spring 2009, produced by TV on the Radio’s Dave Sitek. The single Throw Away / Destroyed followed in 2011, and the band return with more new music this year.

Support comes from Glass Animals. The band’s vocalist and songwriter David Bayley draws influence for both music and artwork from his involvement in the world of medicine and neuroscience (at just 22 years old, he has studied both), creating a sound with its roots spread between the electronic and live instrumentation. The result is the warm, narcotic space between a downbeat, slow-burning groove and electro-pop catchiness.

This show is a co-promotion with Now Wave.
