We’re delighted to be bringing Mock Deer to Manchester!

Mock Deer (Ricky Damiani) is a musician, singer and songwriter based in London. Although much of his life has been spent in North Wales and Manchester, he has become an integral part of the capital’s independent music scene via his prolific work with fellow artists from the city and beyond. He has toured extensively in Europe and shared the stage with artists such as Brent Cobb, Sam Brookes, Simon Joyner, The Burning Hell, Mesadorm, Nadine Khouri and Curtis Eller.

Mock Deer has released several EPs and composed original music for TV and theatre. His debut album The Art of Loneliness — recorded with producer and long-time collaborator Scott Fitzgerald — was released in February 2020 to excellent reviews from the UK music press. His latest EP Perceptions was developed and recorded live with Canadian indie legends The Burning Hell was and released in March 2022.

A full band tour of the UK — Mock Deer’s first outing since 2020 — is slated for November and December of 2022.

‘Incredible’ — Rough Trade

‘Transfixingly crushing, cinematically resonant, alt-indie folk’ — AnR Factory

Main support is Harriet Dagnall. Harriet Dagnall has been writing and performing since the age of fourteen. Originally from Bolton, she was raised on an eclectic range of music and still draws influence from the likes of Joni Mitchell, Fleetwood Mac, Kate Bush and Cocteau Twins. Whilst Harriet’s current influences include The Japanese House, Marika Hackman, Yebba and The War on Drugs, cut her and she bleeds Dad music.

Now living in the heart of Manchester, Harriet has been a familiar face on the city’s vibrant music scene since 2018, performing live and writing new material. In 2020 she teamed up with guitarist, drummer and producer, Rhys Jiang, to work on her debut single Steal You Away, which reached over 28,000 listeners in its first six months, gathering over 50,000 streams on Spotify. Her second single Tied Up was released in August 2021. Harriet was excited to release her debut EP Dead Time in August 2022.

Opening the show is Nick Edward Harris. Nick E. Harris has spent the last twenty years dedicating his life to music. Balanced somewhere between the pulls of being a music teacher, producer, guitar tutor, touring musician and multi-instrumentalist in various projects, Nick has been consistently and committedly honing his craft. Nick’s music has been met with acclaim and support from Clash Music, Q Magazine (Calm Your Demons – Track of the Day) and BBC 6 Music among others.

In recent years Harris has played shows with the likes of Courtney Barnett, Moulettes, Keston Cobblers Club and Rozi Plain, and has toured extensively in the UK and throughout Europe. He has been long-listed for the Glastonbury Emerging Talent Competition, with performances at Wilderness, Cambridge Folk Festival, Glastonbury and Green Man among many others, as well as playing a multi-instrumentalist in Patch and The Giant and emerging London alt-folk project EWE.
