When: 7.30pm on Wednesday 20 April 2022
Where: Low Four Studio, Deansgate Mews, Great Northern, Manchester M3 4EN
PLEASE NOTE: This show is postponed and now takes place in April 2022. All other details are the same and original tickets remain valid. Here’s a message from the band:
‘With heavy hearts we must postpone our U.K. tour dates to later in Spring and September. Although we are dying to get back on the road and do what we do best, pushing these dates is the right thing to do in these extremely uncertain times, and we can’t wait to play for you when the sun starts to shine a little warmer. It’s tough out here in the music biz these days, but we can only trust in our friends and fans that there is still a little flame burning in all of us, refusing to be put out, and eventually we will all be back at it again, rocking at the front. See you very soon loves, stay safe.’
We’re delighted to be presenting an intimate show with Penelope Isles at Low Four!
Penelope Isles are centred around siblings Jack and Lily Wolter, originally from the Isle of Man, and for several years now based in Brighton.
Their debut album Until the Tide Creeps In was produced by the band at the Bella Union studios in London and Brighton. They create dynamic blissed-out moments soaked in fuzz-noise waves – their songs fragile yet ferocious. Indie-psych currents and lustrous melodies blend with the siblings’ voices.
To support the release they played over 150 shows all over the world, including 100 shows in 2019 alone and three tours in the USA. They’ve hit the road with The Flaming Lips, Wallows and The Magic Numbers. Loved by fans, DJs, tour mates and writers, this debut marks them out as one of the most exciting UK bands of the last few years.
Local support comes from Holy Gloam. Holy Gloam are a five-piece alt rock/shoegaze band from North Wales/North West England. An album was written, and all parts recorded, by Julian with Russ Hayes at Orange Sound Studio early 2021, with the band coming together late in 2021. Debut single In and out of Worlds was released for streaming January 2022, with airplay on BBC Radio Wales and Louder than War Radio. Further singles and the album are set to be released later in the year. The live band features members of Gintis, Wobbly Hearts and Onions.
This show takes place at Low Four Studio, the recording studio and venue on Deansgate Mews in the Great Northern.
This is a 14+ show. Under 16s must be accompanied by an adult.
