We’re delighted to be working with Haley Bonar once again!

Haley-Bonar-Night-Day-Manchester

Haley Bonar released Impossible Dream on Memphis Industries in August. It includes the BBC Radio 6 Music A-Listed singles Kismet Kill and Stupid Face.

The follow-up to Haley Bonar’s acclaimed Last War LP and was recorded on analog tape in at Pachyderm Studios in Cannon Falls, MN and was mixed by Chris Coady (Beach House, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, TVOTR) and Robbie Lackritz (Feist) at Haut Bruun.

It’s certainly Bonar’s most ambitious record to date. Blending scuzzy 80s indie, new wave angularity and Spector-ish reverb, her songs are, as NPR once described, ‘as relentlessly catchy on the surface, as they are alluringly complex underneath’. Hypnotic opener Hometown shimmers like a Twin Peaks’ outtake, the shuddering, swirling Kismet Kill recalls Mazzy Star, while the soaring synth and pounding drums of Stupid Face summons the spirit and melody of Porcupine-era Echo and the Bunnymen. Intrepid and diverse, Impossible Dream is consistently bold, infectious and inventive.

‘Impossible Dream finds the underrated Minnesotan in top form, mixing darkness and light with a deft touch’ – NPR

‘Haley Bonar’s Impossible Dream, the fine and discerningly lean album she has long threatened to make’ – 4/5, Mojo

Special guest is Michael Nau. Michael Nau is from the softly-softly school, allowing life to unfold at its own pace: if the UK and mainland Europe didn’t know who he was, they’d come around it to eventually. Now that Full Time Hobby have decided his exquisite solo record Mowing deserves to be his first official release over here, that time has arrived.

‘Quite simply a low-key gem… outstanding’ – The Sunday Express, Album of the Week
