We’re delighted to be presenting a special perform of Paul Smith and Peter Brewis’ Frozen By Sight collaboration.

Frozen-By-Sight-Band-on-the-Wall

Paul Smith (Maximo Park) and Peter Brewis (Field Music) have just announced three performances of their collaborative composition, Frozen By Sight.

Based around text from Paul Smith’s travel writing, and Peter Brewis’ chamber-band arrangements, Frozen By Sight evolved from a commission for the performance of a new musical work at the Festival Of The North East, at Sage Gateshead, in late 2013. These December shows will be the first performances since that inaugural show.

The nine-piece live band includes David Brewis (drums and vocals), John Pope (acoustic bass), Andrew Lowther (tuned percussion) and will feature a string quartet of Ed Cross (Violin), Josephine Montgomery (violin), Chrissie Slater (viola) and Ele Leckie (cello).

Tour support comes from Rozi Plain. Born Rosalind Leyden in the leafy-greens of Winchester, Rozi Plain moved to Bristol and then on to London, creating beautifully intricate music that still retains some of the natural world wonder of her origins. She’s toured with Devendra Banhart, James Yorkston and Viking Moses.

This show is a co-promotion with Now Wave.
